Monitoring of the structure and warning on overloading

Structural behaviors will be monitored continuously to check for movement, deflection, and vibration of the structure as overall, or only for some specific part, also forces occurring inside structural members. Monitoring will be done by using the automatic electronic device to automatically collect the data, do preliminary engineering calculations, and compare the data.

The device can be set to provide a warning when it detects that value of the specific parameter has exceeded the safety limit, such as warning in the case of overloading (prompt removing of an excessive load from the area).

Data from monitoring will provide a clue on future structural failure, insufficient load carrying capacity, insufficient strength or rigidity of the structure, and deterioration rate of the structure.

Corrosion Monitoring

This is done to monitor corrosion of internal steel reinforcement so that evaluation on condition and safety of the structure is possible. It also helps in planning for repair of the damage done to the structure by corrosion. Monitoring may be done periodically or continuously by using electronic devices.
